Busan, also known as Pusan, is a metropolitan city of 4 million habitants which is situated on the southeastern tip of the Korean peninsula. The city is located on the 35th North latitude and covers an area of 762 square kilometres (comparable to Hamburg).
Busan is the second largest city in Korea, after Seoul. With its deep harbour and gentle tides Busan could enter successfully into the biggest container handling port in the country, becoming the third largest harbour of the world. Its natural endowments and rich history have resulted in Bussan’s increasing reputation as a world-class city of tourism and culture.
